A messenger came to Jesus, saying: “Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.” But Jesus replied to the messenger: “Who is my mother? And who are my brethren?” Then Jesus stretched his hand in the direction of his disciples and said: “Behold my mother and my brethren!
